Anita Roddick "because she's worth it?"

Body Shop are being offered loads of money to sell out to L'oreal.
The Guardian wonder if Anita will sell out so she can spend the dosh on her campaigns and wildlife projects and they also pose interesting comparisons between the 2 organisations.
One of the Body Shop's trading standards is honesty about what the products can do for you.
"Anything which says it can magically take away your wrinkles is a scandalous lie" Anita Roddick says. Too bloody right!

That's outrageous - I cannot believe it. I checked - and L'Oreal is owned by Nestle. Surely the Roddicks will not allow this? If I have to stop shopping at the Body Shop - and if they sell to L'Oreal I will - I'm not sure what I'll do for basics - I don't really love Lush products.

Gah!

AH! This has sent my into a spin too - I can hardly believe it. I too would stop shopping there if it was bought by Loreal - the whole meaning and purpose of shopping there would be gone.

I so hope they don't give in and sell to L'Oreal... might be worth writing to Body Shop and let them know they will lose customers, reputation and morals if they do this.

Don't L'Oreal test on animals? ... in addition to having one of the most irritating advertising campaigns ever.

the ads are awful - bo(swe)llox drives me crazy - is that them?
I think it might be worth writing to Anita to state our views - anyone willing to draft a letter we could e-sign?
Nestle own so bloody much!

L'Oreal do test on animals so I really do not understand the logic in this at all! They are probably the worst cosmetics company of the lot and I'm sure the Roddicks know that...
